If you have a facial difference and are excited to embrace your scars, then this tip will help you stop from hiding our scars from the world.
Your Scar Doesn’t Have To Define You
When we have visual scars, we either want the world to see them, or we don’t want anyone to see them. They are visual reminders of our journey in life, most people can hide from theirs, we can’t. They are always there, always reminding us of the past.
But everyone has scars. They can hide them behind masks of beauty, money, possession. But the scars are still there…
This means just because others can see our scars does not mean we’re more or less of a person. That we’ve been through more or less than others. Our scars just sit in a different place.
Maybe, just maybe, our scars will remind others that we all have scars. Help us treat others with kindness.
The thing that makes us look different is a reminder that we’re all the same. We’ve all been scarred in our lives. Ours are just visible, but no more or less deep. We all want to hide from our scars at times.
How do we tackle this?
Acknowledge that you have a story and that everyone else around us does too.
Consider your story from another person’s point of view.
Let your scar be a reminder to be kind to those who have not embraced theirs.
